Avrupa Birliği, yeryüzünde ikinci dünya savaşından sonra başarılı olmuş en önemli ekonomik ve siyasal birleşme hareketidir. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak Ortak Tarım Politikasının tarihsel gelişimi, geçirdiği reformlar ve tarım sektörüne uygulanan politikalar, AB tarımının finansmanı ve genişleme sürecinde yeni katılan üyelerin durumu incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Türk tarımının genel çerçevesi, AB ile karşılaştırılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında Türkiye tarımının Ortak Tarım Politikası'na uyum sürecinde ve müzakerelerde karşılaşacağı sorunlar ve dikkat çeken hususların altı çizilerek, uyumun tarımda dönüşüme olası etkileri irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Ortak Tarım Politikası'na uyum sürecinin doğru yürütülmesi halinde (mevzuat, idari ve kurumsal yapının güçlendirilmesi, kırsal kalkınmaya ve piyasa bazlı tarımın oluşumuna önem veren politikaların uygulanması) bütün olası maliyetlerine rağmen, tarımın köklü yapısal sorunlarının çözümüne yönelik ciddi kazanımların elde edileceği ve dönüşüm sürecinin ivme kazanacağı ortaya konulmuştur. ; The European Union has been successful in the earth after the second world war the most important economic and political union movement faces.
